Hi, I’m Tisha.
I’m a painter and illustrator living in Northern California.
At an early age, I loved filling in those 1980’s velvet coloring posters which (much) later evolved into studying Fine Art & Art History. While at University, I painted in oils and egg tempera in a style similar to Sienese painting of the 14th century.
Sometime after graduating, I saw some beautiful children’s book illustrations and completely fell in love. Some favorite illustrators include Maurice Sendak, M. Sasek, André François, Roger Duvoisin, Mary Blair, Alice & Martin Provensen, Andy Warhol and John Burningham.
I happily work out of a light-filled studio in my backyard with a few dogs at my feet. I mostly use gouache for my illustrations and find inspiration in the details and diversity of everyday life.
Selected clients include: Penguin Random House, Quarto Books, Compendium, Anthropologie, Artfully Walls & West Elm.
